The beginning...

I am : JA JESTEM
You are: TY JESTEŚ
He/She/It is : ON/ONA/ONO JEST

We are: MY JESTEŚMY
You are: WY JESTEŚCIE
They are : ONI SĄ

How to say:  I am hungry?
JA JESTEM GŁODNY ( I am hungry)

How to say: I am sick?
JESTEM CHORY (I am sick)

How to say: You are beautiful?
Ty jesteś piękna (You are beautiful) - you can say "Ty jesteś piękna" it is grammatically correct, but we say "Jesteś piękna"

Ok, so now, you are probably afraid of  "Ą", "Ę", "Ś", "Ć", "Ż", "Ź", "Ó", "Ł" "Ń" ...it doesn't matter so much.

If you say "JA JESTEM GLODNY" instead of "JA JESTEM GŁODNY" we can easily understand what you mean :) So if you learn basics, for your Euro 2012 trip ;) ... do not bother.
